UniTy3 is a service for own web presences of institutions or departments, but also student bodies, working groups, etc., which are not assigned to or subordinate to any faculty. We also welcome inter-faculty projects, to name just a few examples.

TYPO3-features

• Comfortable editing and creation of texts with an editor whose editing interface you know from MS Word or similar text editing systems.

• Easy creation of images and graphics, where the size can be set directly in TYPO3.

• Silder, image elements grouping, click enlargement, in/next to the text, etc. possible.

• Responsive design - automatic adaptation to mobile view and any other view.

• Web pages can be easily moved, duplicated, deactivated or deleted.

• Referencing of important content elements. Means: text or image elements can be linked after creation and inserted in other places within your web presence. This means that changes only need to be made at the original location.

• Offering downloads.

Selected TYPO3-Extensions (optional on request)

•  tt__address: Address management with various lists, telephone lists, e-mail lists, contact boxes etc.
• News (on request with RSS feed): no matter if short messages or even longer news, the creation of an article is just as easy as the creation of normal page content. You can publish your news manually or also automatically and time-controlled, as well as assign categories.
• Powermail: Using a wizard, you can create a suitable form without having to deal with HTML and TypoScript templates. The form content is sent as an email to the address you select.
• Twitter-Extension: If you wish, we can activate our Twitter extension for you, with which you can very easily integrate your own Twiitter feed or keyword searches in compliance with the GDPR.

Backup

• Undo/History function of TYPO3 (against accidental deletion)
•  File backup for all files in your own file volume
• Database backup against data loss in case of crashes or similar events

Security

• The RRZK handles updates, configurations and the like for you.
• Functions that are not considered secure are not included.

Statisics

• Automatic generation of web access statistics via Matomo  (formerly Piwik).

Access permissions

• Anyone who has a personal or student mail account can become an editor and edit websites.
• Of course, more than one person can get permissions for one web presence.
• Also one person can get permissions for multiple web presences.

Restrictions

• No private use.
• Of course no illegal content (especially no copyright violations).
• No (course) registrations or other collection of personal data, except for contact purposes. (Please use KLIPS and ILIAS)
• No pages where visitor traffic is to be expected.
• Only extensions that are officially supported by the RRZK.

• Institute / Institution: Faculty affiliation (if desired), institute, seminar, or similar.
• Project name: Which name should be in the page header (English title if desired), e.g. name of project, working group, etc.)
• Desired URL: myproject.uni-koeln.de, we will take care of the rest and suggest alternatives if necessary.
• Accounts of the editors who are allowed to edit the website
